Starting around 6pm they'll be playing traditional Irish and Scottish tunes. It's always a grand time, so come out and support local musicians and a local bookstore. Hope to see you there!
"I could have danced all night
I could have danced all night At Salem's Ceili Mor, I could have spread my wings And danced a thousand jigs And still have begged for more!" Now you know the song you'll be singing tonight, after you go to the ceili in Salem. So make sure to be at the VFW Hall (630 Hood St NE in Salem), around 7pm. Don't miss this golden opportunity to become a real-life musical! For more info check out their Facebook event or the Ceili of the Valley website. -Griff What do awesome Irish Music, super-fun Irish Dancing, Cinco De Mayo, and a really long drive have in common? They're all happening tomorrow! The last Tualatin ceili of the season is happening at 7:30 pm at Winona Grange (8340 SW Seneca Street). Don't miss it! For more info, check out the Facebook event or S and A Irish Entertainment's website! How do I love thee, Dudley's Celtic Music Session? Let me count the ways:
1. Great music 2. Free 3. Comfy and welcoming atmosphere 4. Delicious treats 5. Local book store 6. Friendly people 7. Conveniently downtown 8. Relaxing activity for a Friday night after a hard week 9. Local musicians supporting each other and their favorite hangout That's a bunch of ways! No wonder I like going so much! See for yourself tonight at 6:30 at Dudley's Bookshop Cafe. Hope to see you there! -Griff P.S. There's even a possibility of a Meese sighting! Wow! Can you believe it's the third week of April already? I can't. The great thing about the third week of April is that it's time for the Portland Ceili again! The sad part is that this is the last ceili in Portland until fall. (Tualatin has one in May and Salem goes through most of the summer though!) They deserve a really big crowd and a good send off before their summer break so if you can make it to St Barnabas Episcopal Church (2201 SW Vermont Street, Portland Oregon) by 8pm tonight, you should go! Doors open at 7:30. $12, $8 for members. For more info check out the Facebook event and Portland Ceili Society's website. It's Ceili time! Ceili of the Valley Society is at it again! Tonight! Salem! 7:15! Maldon Meehan! Outbound Traveler! Snacks! Dancing! Fun! More exclamation points!!!!! It'll be fun. Just you wait. Or drive, if you still need to get to Salem. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for kids, $25 for families. For more info, check out the Facebook event or Ceili of the Valley's website. Okay, so you've endured the April Fool's Day pranks. You've survived the April Showers. You've even managed to avoid too much panic about Christmas being less than 9 months away. But you need something to redeem this month so it doesn't live on in infamy in your memory. There is a solution. DANCING! BUT YOU HAVE TO HURRY! THE CEILI IS TONIGHT! AND IT'S IN TUALATIN! Seriously though, you should go. The dance will be at Winona Grange #271, 8340 SW Seneca Street, 97062. It will start at 7:30 and go until about 11. Entry is $12, or $10 for students and veterans. And it's always a blast. We are going to try to make it, pending grown-up stuff going quickly. Hope to see you there!
