It's Celtic Music Session time again! I'm borrowing the description from the lovely Michele's email because it make me smile, "Have you seriously thought about finishing that old macrame project you found in the closet? Are you at level 805 of Two Dots? You've spent hours watching cat videos on the YouTubes? Find yourself staring mutely at the piles of snow surrounding your windows? Are your fingers stubbornly clenched, as if around the handle of a snow shovel? Sweetie, you have cabin fever. Get out of your jammies, put down the bag of Oreos, come on in to town and play some tunes. It's for your own good.
Dudley's Bookshop Cafe will host the regular Third Friday Session on January 20, beginning around 6:30pm. Come and listen or join in. We play traditional music from Ireland and Scotland, and if we are lucky, someone might give us a song or two. All are welcome. We try to follow the rules of traditional sessions (or at least the general guidelines!)--we play the tune in unison a few times, then switch on the fly." Come check it out! There won't be dancing Meese this week because the Moose is out of town, but the Mouse might be there to listen and hang out and she would love to see you! :)

Hello ceili friends! Are you having trouble waiting for our classes to come back? Of course you are! Are you brave enough to get over the pass to Portland? Clearly, or we would have scared you off already.
Well, now that we've sorted that out, you should all go to the Portland ceili on Friday! The dance will start at 7:45 pm on Friday, January 20, and will go until 10:45. There will be live music (and dancing, of course!), and lots of craic (look it up if that sentence makes you squirm). So make your way to 2201 SW Vermont St, Portland, Oregon 97219, and let the fun begin! For more info, check out their Facebook event and the Portland Ceili Society website. Happy New Year!
It's ceili time in Tualatin again! Tomorrow, January 6th, from 7:30 to 11pm they'll be dancing to live music at the Winona Grange #271 (8340 SW Seneca Street). Central Oregonians, if you're headed over the mountains, be careful and please consider stopping in to what is sure to be an amazing ceili! For more info check out the Facebook event and S and A Irish Entertainment's website. |
