Looking for something fun to do a little closer to home than the Portland ceili?
You're in luck! The Celtic Music Session is also this Friday at Dudley's Bookshop and Cafe (135 NW Minnesota Ave, Bend, OR 97701). They'll start playing around 6:30 and go until around 9pm. If you have an instrument and want to join in, you're welcome to do so. There might even be a little dancing. So come enjoy a treat and a drink and some lovely tunes!

Wow! It's third Friday again already! That means it's time for the Portland Ceili! Tonight at 7:30 they'll have a brief footwork workshop and then from 8pm to 11pm there will be dancing to live music. They have a new venue--St. Barnabas Episcopal Church (2201 SW Vermont Street)--that's quite nice. It's $12 for adults and $8 for PCS members. For more info, check out their Facebook event and the Portland Ceili Society's website. From Ceili of the Valley's Facebook event (they just said it so well), "It's the Ceili of the Valley Society's Second Friday Ceili Mor on November 11th. Come enjoy Irish and Scottish dances and listen to fantiastic tunes from Mikey Beglan, Chad Southwell and Teresa Baker. Sam Keator will be the caller. Don't miss this chance to enjoy a night of music and camaraderie, even if you don't dance!"
More details on the poster below or at Ceili of the Valley's website. Hey everybody,
It's ceili time in Tualatin again! Tonight at Winona Grange #241 (8340 SW Seneca Street) there will be a short lesson before the dancing begins at 8pm. It'll go until 11pm with a short break for snacks in the middle. Live music will be provided by Mikey Beglan, Joe Root and Bob Soper, with Sam Keator calling. It's $12 for adults and $10 for students, Veterans and those over 65. If you can, you should go and dance the night away especially before the weather gets bad!
