It's Celtic Music Session time again! I'm borrowing the description from the lovely Michele's email because it make me smile, "Have you seriously thought about finishing that old macrame project you found in the closet? Are you at level 805 of Two Dots? You've spent hours watching cat videos on the YouTubes? Find yourself staring mutely at the piles of snow surrounding your windows? Are your fingers stubbornly clenched, as if around the handle of a snow shovel? Sweetie, you have cabin fever. Get out of your jammies, put down the bag of Oreos, come on in to town and play some tunes. It's for your own good.
Dudley's Bookshop Cafe will host the regular Third Friday Session on January 20, beginning around 6:30pm. Come and listen or join in. We play traditional music from Ireland and Scotland, and if we are lucky, someone might give us a song or two. All are welcome. We try to follow the rules of traditional sessions (or at least the general guidelines!)--we play the tune in unison a few times, then switch on the fly." Come check it out! There won't be dancing Meese this week because the Moose is out of town, but the Mouse might be there to listen and hang out and she would love to see you! :)

Another thing you can try if you'll be in town this weekend is Contra dancing!
Contra is related to Irish ceili dancing and other types of country dancing. It's fun and should be pretty easy to jump into--especially if you've taken our class! It's their first dance of the new season and they have a new location. They'll be dancing from 7 to 9:30pm at Pine Forest Grange (63214 Boyd Acres Road in Bend, OR 97701). Live music will be provided by The Hat Band (how fun is that band name? :D). It's $8 per person. For more details please check out their Facebook event or their website. Yay! Gaelic Storm is coming to Bend again! They're performing at 7:30pm at the Tower Theatre. Tickets are $32.50 or $42.50 depending on where you want to sit. (I know that's kind of spendy, but it is the Tower so what can you do? And Gaelic Storm is worth it. Like we've said before, their live show is a lot of fun [Mouse has been to see them what... six times or so?] and they're one of our favorites.)
Also, for those of you keeping track--the McKenzie Highland Games end at 5pm which is just enough time to get back and see Gaelic Storm. *hint hint nudge nudge* ;) Hey everybody!
We just heard about this neat thing that's happening at McMenamins tomorrow! Most of the relevant details are on the poster above, but here's the link to the Facebook event just in case. If you're free, check it out! Hey everyone! The Celtic Music Session at Dudley's is tomorrow! Come on over for some yummy treats and fun Irish music. We'll be there handing out swag, and maybe doing a bit of dancing in the corners :)
The music will start around 6:30 at Dudley's Bookshop Cafe (135 NW Minnesota Avenue) in Bend, Oregon on August 19, 2016. Here a link to their Facebook group for more info: https://www.facebook.com/groups/373077382860799/ Hope to see you all there! Celtic Music Session in Bend TONIGHT!
If you're wondering what to do on this pleasant Friday night, the Meese suggest going to Dudley's (135 NW Minnesota Avenue) to listen to some music, enjoy a bakery treat or drink and watch some dancing! They start playing around 6 and go until 9pm or so. (Yes, we know this is kinda late. Sorry...) Hope to see you there! It's time for another Celtic Music Session at Dudley's!
Come enjoy the cozy atmosphere, fun music, and tasty treats tonight around 6:00. There might even be some dancing! The session will be at Dudley's Bookshop Cafe at 135 NW Minnesota Ave, Bend, OR 97701. Here's the link to the Facebook group for more info: Everyone raise your hands if you've been positively dying for another chance to dance.
Oh look! All of you raised your hands! Excellent! Here's your chance. Bend Community Contra Dance is having a FREE dance this Friday (yes, that's tomorrow) at 7pm at Crow's Feet Commons in Drake Park. While it's true that Contra is noticeably different from both English Country and Ceili dancing, if you already do either you'll pick it up really fast. This is a great opportunity to dance with a big group, and to experience the organized chaos that is big social dancing. This dance will be OUTSIDE on the patio. Choose thy shoes accordingly. And your outfit. Crow's Feet Commons is located at 875 NW Brooks St, Bend, Oregon 97701. The dance starts at 7pm, and it is free to participate. Keep dancing!
